3 Ingredient Ginger-Mint Detox Tea Recipe

Are you feeling a little sluggish? Is your skin not looking its best? Are you feeling tired, and like you need an energy boost? This is a sign that your body is not detoxing properly.

We often hear about miracle detox teas, and detox diets but the truth is – our bodies are equipped already with efficient ways of detoxing. When there is an issue somewhere – perhaps our digestion is not optimal for example, and our organs are getting bogged down by various different factors (could be hormones, could be too much caffeine) sometimes we need that extra little push to help everything along.

This tea is particularly great because it is gentle, yet effective. With just 3 simple ingredients, we’ll get things moving along smoothly and have you glowing from the inside out! Sound good?

Let’s talk about why this tea is great for detox:

Mint

Mint is known for its aid in digestion but have you ever wondered why? Menthol – the active oil in mint is proven to help relieve indigestion, and soothe upset stomachs.

Ginger

Ginger promotes the elimination of excessive gas from the digestive system, and has been known to soothe the intestinal tract.

Milk Thistle

Milk thistle tea is a powerful liver support agent – and without your liver working optimally, your body cannot effectively detox toxins and other compounds.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch of fresh mint, stems removed
  • 1” chunk of fresh ginger
  • 1 Milk Thistle tea bag

In a small saucepan, place the mint leaves, ginger chunk (unpeeled) and the milk thistle tea bag with 1 ½ cups of filtered water. Bring to a boil, turn off the heat, cover and let sit for 10 – 15 minutes. Strain everything out and enjoy!
